Shutout #4; 11 Innings

Season: 19-11; Home Stand: 4-3
Wrap, Box, Herald-Sun

Not sure I have much to add to the wrap and Herald-Sun stories. I was only able to see the game from the 8th inning on, and that on TV. Great defense kept the Clippers in the game. Poor defense kept them at risk. They have a serious need to do some drills on bunt protection.

In the end, after having runners on 3B with no outs in four other innings, with infield and outfield drawn in, pinch hitting Jerry Sands was the hero with a line drive over the head of the Clipper right fielder. That shot was such a no doubter that the Clipper was running to the dugout before the ball even hit the ground.

Says a lot that in an 11-inning game the Bulls only used three pitchers. The Clippers went through six.

Outside the game —
  • Broadcaster Kinas reported that Mikie Mahtook may be back in the game on Monday’s game at Syracuse.
