Rainy Day

We talked about this a while back, but seems appropriate to bring it back up today since it's raining at my house and we may have some new readers of WDBB.

A camera up on the Diamond View I building can be accessed through the Durham Bulls website. The link is under the Wool E.’s Clubhouse menu. Or you can click the link here.

In my experience the time between rolling up the tarp and the start of play is around 30 minutes.

So, for example, if you were to check right now (August 4, 4:30 pm), you’d see that the tarp is on the field.

What I’ll be doing tonight is checking at about 6 o’clock and if the tarp is on, I’ll wait until I see them pull the tarp before I head to the DBAP, because it takes me about 30 minutes to get there. If I miss the first pitch or so, so be it.

If the tarp is off the field, I head out (after I give the local radar a check). If the tarp’s back on the field when I get there, I grumble a lot.

Remember to refresh from time to time since I don’t think it’s done automatically. At least not with my browser (Firefox).

  1. Interesting. I didn't know that was there, thanks for the link.

If it matter any, about 20 minutes after your post, 4:52 by my clock, it looks like the tarp is off the field. According to the Bulls GM twitter post, they put the tarp on because of the brief heavy rain here, but expect an on-time start.

  2. Chris - It was great to see you and Fran at the game on Sunday! You are probably at the game by now and it is hot and sunny here in Durham! Morgan Lamphere
