Chiefs - Bulls Matchup; a New Catcher

The Syracuse Chiefs are the Triple A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The six-team North Division of the International League is turning out to be a pretty tough place. The Chiefs are just one game below .500, but still down into 5th place. They do not seem to have any obvious statistical issues although the mismatch between expected and actual wins and losses indicates some relief pitching issues. Just as the Bulls’ mismatch indicates a strong bullpen.

A glance at their roster showed only infielder Will Rhymes as a former Bull, who had several games with the team back in 2012.

This will be the Bulls first trip out of the South in 2014.

Joining the Bulls from the Montgomery Biscuits will be catcher Curt Casali. We speculated a bit about him during spring training. He's been coming up through the Rays system and has had a solid start this season in Montgomery. Catcher Eddy Rodriguez was released to make room. We wish him the best of luck.

  1. Geltz suspended 50 games for drugs.

We're going to have half of the Biscuit team on our roster soon.

  2. Ouch. Why so many in Rays system, I wonder. Just checked in. Have been out for the night. This would be the 3rd in the last couple of years.
